The Demolition Begins!

Filed under: Uncategorized — Jennifer Seltzer @ 2:52 am

We started renovating last weekend.  We got a dumpster and filled it to the max.  We ran out of room so we are filling the trailer and taking it to the dump.  This was taken this morning…we put more in the trailer and the dumpster this afternoon:)

We had drywall guys this whole week.  They worked 6 straight days most days from 7am-10pm

We found some nice surprises….a leak, rotted wood and mold…

See the shed and brick?

 The shed is gone, picture-065

and so is the brick and yet another shed!

It’s been a long couple weekends…and we are in for some more long weekends.  If anyone wants to paint, come on over next saturday…I’ll take all the help I can get:)

10 Years….where did the time go?

Filed under: Uncategorized — Jennifer Seltzer @ 8:58 pm

In ten years we’ve been to Hawaii 6 times, Cabo, Cancun, the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico, Idaho, Lake Powell and numerous other places including all over California.  We’ve had two kids, one dog and two houses!  (We close escrow today on our forever house).  We have had a blessed life so far and we are looking forward to what God is going to do in our next decade together.

Sweet talk…

Me:  Isaac, please go downstairs and find out what your brother is doing.

Isaac:  (Very slowly…)  Um, I’m going to pretend I did not hear that.

(The delivery was so funny…sometimes words just don’t do it)

I’m just wondering…

Filed under: Uncategorized — Jennifer Seltzer @ 11:40 pm

When will Elijah stop saying moocycle and start saying motorcycle?

When do I stop referring to him as my baby?

When will he stop saying, “why me not going”  instead of “why am I not going?”

When will he grow out of that cute pudgy stage?

When will Isaac loose his first tooth?

What will Kindergarten be like next year?

Why do they say my name a handful of times (with me answering yes? each time)  before they ask me what they want?

When will they start behaving out in public?

How come they are sooo cute when they are napping/sleeping?

When will I get my brain cell’s back?

When will I ever take back control of my house?

Will we ever find a renter for our house?

What will moving be like?

Why do kids have to grow up?

Why can’t we freeze them in their cute stage? You know, the stage where you are still bigger and stronger…

Where did the last five years go?

The Vaccination Debate

Filed under: Uncategorized — Jennifer Seltzer @ 10:09 pm

How do you feel about vaccinating your kids?  Do you follow what your Dr and the government suggests?  I certainly have an opinion but wanted to know what other mommies think as well.  My watered down opinion is this;  do what’s best for your children and your family.  For my family that means taking it slow and only when necessary.  As a new mommy, I didn’t have any idea what the heck I was doing.  I let the Dr’s tell me what to do and when to do it.  As a second time mom, I got wise.  I started doing my own research and as a result hit a wall with our pediatrician.  We have since changed Dr’s, but I still get a lecture every time I walk into the Dr.’s office.  I get it from the nurses too!  If you don’t vaccinate or slowly vaccinate, what is your experience with the Dr?  If you do vaccinate why and how often?    What has your experience been with your kids and vaccinations and Dr’s?  Don’t be shy…no judgements:) Comment anonymously if you have to but comment!
