Carlsbad with the boys

Filed under: Uncategorized — Jennifer Seltzer @ 11:42 pm

We spent a couple days down at the beach in Carlsbad.  The kids loved being able to go to the beach before and after naps.  They would finish off with a swim in the pool at the resort.  Thanks grandma and grandpa for having us!  We love coming every year.

Isaac tackled the waves

While Elijah tackled, well, everything…

The boys had a great time with their grandma and great-grandparents.

Murphy’s Law

Filed under: Uncategorized — Jennifer Seltzer @ 10:13 pm

“Whatever can go wrong will go wrong, at the worst possible time and in the worst possible way.”  This is an official definition of Murphy’s Law and my life right now.  The economy has pinched us and now that we are pinched everything is breaking.  When will we catch a break???   So last week our furnace was red tagged.  If we run it, carbon monoxide will leak.  It’s right next to the boys’ rooms.  As you remember our dryer died and Aaron got his third flat tire this year.  What the heck he drives over, I don’t know but I’m seriously considering grounding him from his car.   We all four went to the dentist and suprise suprise Jen needs a crown.  Will the money sucking ever end???  I dropped the britta water pitcher and cracked it.  Now, that seems very small in detail compared to our furnace/air conditioner, but really it’s just one more added thing I have to spend money on that I would not have had to.   This is just the past couple weeks.  I could write a story about the past couple months and what’s gone wrong in the Seltzer household since the big squeeze!

10 Loads of Laundry in One Day

Filed under: Uncategorized — Jennifer Seltzer @ 9:44 pm

Yep, you read right.  Ten loads…washed, dried, folded and put away.  You ask me how, considering my dryer died on me two weeks ago? (And that answers the question of why I had 10 loads in the first place).  I went to my mom’s house and used her washer/dryer along with my sister’s washer/dryer who lives on the same property.  Yep, my own free private laundry mat.  Lucky me!  It was torture though and I wouldn’t wish even my enemy’s dryer to die on them.  Ten loads is close to my record in a day…actually half a day since I’m back home and the boys are tucked away for their naps.  What’s your record?  No judgements

Kayaking in the bay

Filed under: Uncategorized — Jennifer Seltzer @ 3:49 am

For my baby sister’s birthday we spent the day (okay, half the day) at the beach and then went kayaking.  We had a great time and the kids LOVED it!  Isaac even paddled about half the time.  For those of you who know Elijah, believe it or not he sat passively in my lap the whole time.  And for those of you who don’t know Elijah very well, as the mom of this crazy kid, if you told me he sat still that long I would call you a liar!  All right I wouldn’t to your face, but I sure as heck would be thinking it.
